Editorial Standards
The World Dispatch is a source-attributed news digest. Our purpose is to help readers discover verifiable reporting and public updates from identifiable publishers and institutions.
Sources and attribution
Every reported development should be linked to an identifiable original source. The original publisher, reporter or public institution retains credit for its work. We distinguish excerpts, permitted republication and news briefs from independent reporting.
Automation and accuracy
Posts are collected and formatted with an automated news-publishing workflow. Automation cannot guarantee independent verification, comprehensive context or firsthand reporting. Readers should consult original sources, especially for consequential or developing events. We aim not to publish posts that contain only a headline or boilerplate without meaningful supporting material.
Images and reuse rights
Photographs and graphics may be subject to separate permissions from article text. Any featured image should have an appropriate license and context; generic imagery must not be presented as evidence of a particular event. An article may appear without a photograph when a relevant, reusable one is not available.
Dates, updates and archives
News briefs may appear here after their original publication. Where available, an article identifies the original source date separately. Older material must not be presented as breaking news.
Editorial desk identities
The illustrated personas listed on the Editorial Desks page are fictional organizational identities, not real employees or reporters. They have not conducted interviews or original reporting.
